Hello, my name's Rebecca Shinuga and you are free to the it Starts With Heart podcast. I am so excited, as always, to be here. This episode is a sneak peek into a little impromptu live that I did on Instagram on my Mindset Mastery page I don't actually think I've even ever plugged my Mindset Mastery Instagram page on here before At Mindset Mastery Online feel free to give it a follow and I thought I'd just share this because it was just a little bit of inspiration that I had this morning. So I thought you know what I'm gonna do it. I'm just gonna go live what's Winnie's napping and I will share it onto here. So, yeah, let me know your thoughts and I'll speak to you soon.
Speaker 1:Well, I was not going to be doing this today, which is why I'm in my comfy clothes, I've not done my hair or anything and I was having one of those days where I thought you know what? I've got nothing in my diary. I'm just going to be chilling out, I'm not going to be showing my face anywhere and I'm going to have a nice relaxing working day just doing my own thing. But I had a little bit of inspo and I thought you know what? I'm someone who's a big believer on acting on ideas straight away. Now, quick one before I get into it. My little one is napping at the moment. She doesn't usually nap. At this time she's not that well, so if she does wake up I might need to pop off and jump back on later. But hopefully I'll get through all of this because it shouldn't take that long. I have wrote a couple of notes because I wanted to just jot down my idea and then thought you know what I need to share this information. So the reason why I thought it is yesterday in one of my other businesses, I reached a milestone that I've been working towards for quite some time and obviously, obviously, like, people are celebrating and stuff, but then obviously you get people who were like, oh, I wish I could do that, I wish I could do the same. It's like you can do the same.
Speaker 1:You just have to put the actual work in and ultimately, when you are working towards anything whether it's a business goal, whether it's health and fitness, whether it's a financial goal or anything everything is mindset related. Without any decent mindset, in any area, you will struggle to attain those goals, because mindset is what keeps you consistent. Keeping you consistent builds a compound effect and it's the compound effect that ultimately gets you the results in the end. So mindset is obviously the work that people don't often see. You see me working on mindset because I post it every day, but not everyone posts it obviously.
Speaker 1:Um, because it's just part of the day-to-day life for some people. They're not always going to post every single time. You listen to a podcast or read a book or whatever. But then you also get a lot of people because you can't see it and because you're not going somewhere to physically work on that thing every single day. It's not the same as like going to work. It's not the same as going to a physical gym, like doing your mindset work is usually something that you do on your own from home or wherever you are, and there's no one who can see you, no one's holding you accountable. It's just up to yourself to do that work.
Speaker 1:So with your mindset, it's the work that people don't see that pays off. So people often say to me gosh, you're so strong, you're so resilient, you seem to bounce back from everything and you're just always just like doing what you need to do, like I don't know how you're so motivated and inspired. Every day. I work on my mindset every day. It's the same as putting on my underwear and brushing my teeth in the morning. It's part of my life, whether I show it or not. So it's about doing that inner work and some people like oh, mindset blah, blah. Listen, if you're following this page, if you're following me on my personal page, then you are probably someone who is interested in leveling up your mindset or there's something about the content or what it stands for that inspires you or inspired you at that time to press that follow button. So there must be something about your current circumstances that you want to improve, whether it is your mindset, whether it is to attain one of your goals, and some people think, oh yeah, I'm just doing the work and like them, like you literally, genuinely. Some people must think that mindset just isn't important at all, and it absolutely is.
Speaker 1:Now, what I thought about was just a few things, and this is just random stuff. There's more to add to this list. I could list probably 150 things off the top of my head, um, but I want you just to call out some of these things so you can have a little bit of a think if you are relating to any of these next points that I'm going to say. This is your sign to start working on yourself now, and I'll go into a little bit more in a second. But the first thing is you struggle to handle life, feeling stressed, overwhelmed, depressed guys. If you struggle to handle and to navigate around day-to-day life, that is a big factor of your mindset. Okay, and I know everyone goes through different challenges and stuff like that, get it. But if you are genuinely struggling with day-to-day life, something has to change.
Speaker 1:You might be negative and I'm relying on you to be self-reflecting now and really, really honest with yourself. Are you negative? Are you a moaning mini? Are you someone who has something just to say, like, and you might not even realize that you're doing it? But usually, if you are a moaning mini, it's because you're a negative person. So what are you doing typically? Or what are you saying to yourself every day, or what are you saying to other people that could be changing to a more positive way? Again, that's a sign that you need to work on your mindset.
Speaker 1:Number three you watch the news a lot. Now, I'm not saying don't watch the news, even though I stay away from it, because I just think it's just like doom and gloom, and if you really really needed to know something important, it's going to get plastered everywhere else anyway. You don't need to intentionally sit and watch the news or scroll and read the news. But if you are someone who, like, reads the news a lot or watches the news or you're just filling your mind with with, like, sadness and negativity and devastating stuff that's happening all the time, then you need a way of counteracting that. Otherwise, what's going to be happening? You're just going to be thinking about that constantly, even though you might not even realize that you're thinking it. You will be thinking it and then another one.
Speaker 1:There's something that you don't like about your current circumstances, but you don't change it. So if you know that there's something about your current circumstances, your life in some way whether it's your money, whether it's your business, whether it's, um, your health and fitness, whatever and you know there's something that needs to be changed but you're not changing it, then that is a massive sign that that's something mindset related, because if you know what you need to do and you're not doing it, that's a gap in your mindset and personal development. You are envious of other people. If you're looking at other people and you're like god, I want that life and you're jealous. That's not healthy and part of that is because, in a lot of ways, you might not be working towards your own goals.
Speaker 1:Be so busy working towards your own goals that you do not give a damn what anyone else is doing, like I could not give a toot what anyone else is doing. People say to me oh, like you never watch my stuff, you never like watch. Like I do watch people's stories and stuff. Like the algorithm shows me some people's stuff and I watch it and I support people. I support my friends posts, of course, but I never, ever look at someone and think, god, I just wish I had that life. I look at other people who are further ahead than me and think, if I want that life, I can get it and I'll get to work. And it might inspire me to like kick my ass a little bit and think, gosh, I could actually do a little bit more. I'll never look at someone and be envious of them because ultimately, my decisions got me to where I am. Their decisions got them to where they are. Not everyone can compare everyone's journey. Like you don't know what people have done behind the scenes to get them to where they are. So why be envious of that? Just work your ass off and you could get there as well.
Speaker 1:And then the final example is struggling to say stay consistent to hit your goals. If you are struggling to stay consistent to hit your goals, that is a massive flag that you need to work on your mindset every single day. Now, what does working on your mindset look like? It is not anything wild. It is not not anything that is out of the ordinary. It's nothing that's going to massively take loads of time. That's going to be massively taxing. It's 10 minutes.
Speaker 1:10 minutes a day is all it takes for you to work on your mindset, whether it's 10 minutes of reading a book, whether it's 10 minutes of listening to a podcast, whether it's 10 minutes of listening to a podcast, whether it's 10 minutes of watching an inspirational youtube video. And then, once you get used to it and you've developed that habit every single day, then you might think, right, how can I do it a bit longer, like I do loads more than 10 minutes every single day. But I started off as 10 minutes because, the way I look at it is, it's another thing that you're bringing into your life, everyone feels like they're the busiest person ever. Um, you're probably already not very disciplined, or probably already not being very consistent, which is why you need to work on your personal development. So then, asking you to do something like an hour of reading every single day, when you've never read a book in your life, is probably not going to be very realistic and not going to be something that you are easily or really like wanting to do every single day. So the whole point is you start off small, something that can easily implement. So think about the best ways that you digest information, and that's going to be the easiest thing for you to do, because whether you do a video, whether you're listening to stuff, whether you do reading, it is better than nothing. So, 10 minutes a day day and what I always do as well is I always know what personal development I'm doing the day after.
Speaker 1:So say, for example, you're going to do your 10 minutes first thing in the morning. You might spend 10 minutes a day now reading the news and you might be like, right, I'm gonna listen to Rebecca, I'm not gonna read the news 10 minutes and I'm gonna spend that 10 minutes instead watching a YouTube video. So you don't want to then wake up and just be scanning youtube in the morning trying to find a video. Find a suitable 10 minute video or a couple of videos that you can watch. Find them the night before. Put them in the notes in your phone. Your alarm goes off. Set your your like your title of your alarm to say something along the lines of no news, watch YouTube video. And then the videos are there, ready, and all you have to do is click them and watch them. That is a very simple and effective habit to have every single day.
Speaker 1:And then what you'll find is, when you start to implement this, when you do start to work on your mindset consistently every single day, that is going to see massive shifts in how you view things, how you look at life and, ultimately, how you show up every single day. But the main thing is how you feel, and if you're feeling good and you're doing things that are making you feel good and you're moving that needle forward every single day, guess what? That's going to have a domino effect in every area of your life as well. So I hope that helps.
Speaker 1:And another thing just to mention as well, if you've not seen already the link in the bio of this Instagram page. It gives you access to download the free ultimate belief bible another thing that I've definitely not been plugging enough and mentioning enough on here. So the ultimate belief bible is some resources that I've put together that can help you on your mindset mastery journey, whether you are just starting off or whether you're a bit more seasoned at it. So make sure you check out the ultimate belief bible. But enjoy the rest of your day, guys, and I will catch up with you soon.
